Hennepin County is seeking U.S. military veterans to serve as volunteer mentors for participants in the 4th judicial district - Veterans Treatment Court. This court supports justice-involved veterans who are working to overcome substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and other barriers while completing a court-ordered treatment plan.
Mentors act as trusted allies and role models, helping participants reconnect with the benefits and support they earned through their service. They meet regularly with their assigned participant and collaborate with Hennepin County Veterans Services and the Veterans Treatment Court team to connect them with community resources and supportive services. Volunteer veteran mentors are paired one-on-one with a veteran participant where they play a critical role in helping veterans with the primary goals of:
Rebuilding stability.
Strengthening resilience.
Successfully completing Veteran's Treatment Court program.
