The role of the Music Therapist involves providing comprehensive music therapy assessments and personalized treatment interventions to meet the psychosocial, developmental, rehabilitative, and psychological needs of pediatric patients, siblings, and families. They play a vital role in helping patients and families cope with various challenges such as illness, injury, disability, hospitalization, and end-of-life situations. Key responsibilities include designing and conducting individual and group music therapy sessions, maintaining accurate documentation of patient progress, managing supplies and inventory, nurturing community and donor relationships, and supervising the training of new music therapists and interns.
