This is a Health Professional I training position within Court Services. The Forensic Psychology Fellow will train and learn to prepare court-ordered evaluations under the supervision of a Colorado-licensed staff psychologist in the Court Services Department.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide advanced training in forensic psychological assessment for persons who have recently completed graduate training in psychology. This position will receive advanced experiential training in applying psychological data to legal issues. Consistent with the mission of the Court Services Department, this position will acquire extensive practical experience in conducting evaluations of competency to proceed and restoration to competency, and will also be involved in evaluations of sanity and/or mental condition. Additional areas of experiential training may include the assessment of violence risk, civil commitment, more specific competencies related to the judicial process, or other issues, depending on the Fellow's specific interests. This position will provide testimony if subpoenaed.
