JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The Center for Children and Families is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to provide non-clinical, rehabilitation, and resiliency-focused support to children and families. This role enhances community living skills, promotes recovery, and integrates clients into their communities. Although this position is not strictly limited to the Hispanic community, the emphasis and much of the work will be with Spanish-speaking clients and community partners. The Peer Support Specialist collaborates with program staff and provides assistance to the Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisors as needed.
SEE YOURSELF IN THIS ROLE:
You begin your day by checking in with a young client who is working toward greater independence. Through group and individual support sessions, you provide encouragement and share personal insights to foster resilience and growth. Later, you collaborate with therapists and attend a supervision meeting, discussing ways to enhance community integration efforts. Whether providing resources to families, updating case notes, or attending a team meeting, you serve as a trusted mentor and advocate, helping clients take meaningful steps toward recovery and stability.
