The Community Based Therapist provides clinical services to clients (including assessment, individual and family therapy, and psycho-educational groups); and assists with the development and oversight of the mental health component for the agency. The Therapist works across all programs and will travel to serve clients at our multiple locations
Provides mental health services including assessment, crisis management, ongoing individual, family (in and out of the home) and group therapy for girls and their families in the Gwens Girls Program. Conducts psycho-educational groups for girls and their families.
Assists the Clinical Director with the development of the Mental Health Component of the agency. This includes keeping the agency in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations (e.g., HIPAA), with any requirements from Department of Public Welfare and other licensing agencies, and any applicable accreditation standards.
Assists with training and development opportunities for staff regarding relevant mental health issues/topics. Makes certain agency operates in clinically sound ways to promote health and wellness of the clients and families.
Submits claims forms for all clients in therapy for third party payments in a timely manner. Gathers all significant client information, maintains proper documentation and files, and handles all requests and communications with insurance companies/providers.
Maintains clinical licensure with the state of Pennsylvania with ongoing continuing education. Maintains other credentialing requirements with insurance agencies as required.
Provide clinical oversight to all programs. Ensure programs are operating with the best clinical practices and ensuring the overall safety and well-being of all clients.
Maintains working relationships with colleges and universities to recruit interns. Provide clinical supervision, evaluation, and scheduling interns.
Provide clinical oversight of referrals for therapy and oversee the initial evaluation process.
Make clinical recommendations to staff and clients for additional services as required.
Work with members of the management team to assure successful communication and coordination between all programs.
Incorporates Sanctuary tools and practices into everyday interactions to create a trauma-informed environment. Upholds the principles of Sanctuary to provide a therapeutic framework and culture.
Actively participates in all required team meetings, trainings and supervisory sessions. Meets regularly with supervisor, communicates openly needs, concerns, and ideas; utilizes feedback given in supervisory sessions
Performs in accordance with established system-wide competencies and receives satisfactory performance evaluations annually.
