TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE & SUPERVISION OPPORTUNITIES:
Learn specific skills and knowledge directly relating to the practice of forensic interviews of potential child abuse victim and family advocacy services for children and non-offending caregivers.
Transfer the skills and knowledge learned in an academic setting to a professional setting while being supervised and mentored by a site supervisor.
Develop confidence in their ability to apply learning theory and techniques multidisciplinary team setting.
Will have the opportunity to work towards independent advocacy services.
Will have the opportunity to attend trainings virtually and in-person related to child abuse, child protection, forensic interviews, advocacy, and other related topics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in monitoring clients as needed and appropriate.
Observe forensic interviews and participate in pre and post interview meetings.
Observe family advocacy and have the opportunity to provide advocacy services by the end of their internship.
Perform clerical duties, such as data entry, answer telephones, monitor program calendar and set-up interviews.
Have the opportunity to observe and participate in Multidisciplinary Team and Case Review meetings.
May have the opportunity to assist with fundraising opportunities or other special events.
Perform other duties as deemed necessary to fulfill responsibilities of the position or as assigned by the supervisor.
