About Healthy Minds Alliance
Healthy Minds Alliance is a community-based initiative tackling the mental health crisis by implementing evidence-based and informed programs in communities across the nation.
Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated AmeriCorps members to support local crisis call centers as they navigate the challenges of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s transition to the 988 number. Through the Public Health AmeriCorps grant, you’ll receive training in evidence-based crisis intervention and suicide prevention techniques. As a member, you’ll provide direct support to individuals reaching out via calls, texts, and chats, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
What You’ll Do
As an AmeriCorps member, you will:
Earn certification in evidence-based suicide prevention interventions.
Support individuals experiencing mental health challenges by providing empathetic, informed responses.
Build a strong resume and gain hands-on experience in the growing field of behavioral health.
Benefits of Serving with AmeriCorps
Living Stipend:
Full-time: $23,000, distributed biweekly over the service term.
Part-time: $11,500, distributed biweekly over the service term.
Education Award:
Full-time: $7,395 upon completing 1,700 service hours.
Part-time: $3,697.50 upon completing 850 service hours.
Can be applied to federal student loans or future education expenses.

Who We’re Looking For

Skilled in customer service and interpersonal communication.
Strong communicators with a commitment to mental health advocacy and prevention.
